چکیده

The separation of neutral and water-insoluble linear synthetic polymers in non-aqueous capillary zone electrophoresis using the hydrophobic phosphonium-based ionic liquid trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride (P66614Cl) were investigated using polystyrene, polymethylmethacrylates, polybutadiene, and polycarbonate as test analytes. The solubility of P66614Cl in tetrahydrofuran was above 500 mM, which was significantly higher than that of the general ionic surfactants used in our previous studies. The separation of the four polymers was achieved using a binary mixture of tetrahydrofuran/methanol or tetrahydrofuran/acetonitrile containing P66614Cl as the electrophoretic medium. It was confirmed that an increase in hydrophobicity or bulkiness of the cationic reagent improved the polymer separation. The interaction between polycarbonate with P66614Cl was reduced by the addition of acetonitrile, and enhanced by the methanol addition.

Evaluation of Acetonitrile Deproteinisation of the Serum Samples for the Analysis of Drugs in Serum Using Capillary Zone Electrophoresis

Deproteinisation with acetonitrile (along with methanol or other reagents) is a useful and rapid technique in analysis of drugs or their metabolites in human serum. In this paper application of this simple technique in biopharmaceutical analysis using capillary electrophoresis (CE) is evaluated. Some drugs with different ionic and protein binding properties were selected and dissolved in human ...

Ionic liquids as modifiers to improve the separation efficiency of nonaqueous capillary electrophoresis with high electric field strengths.

A method of nonaqueous capillary electrophoresis based on ionic liquids was developed with a high electric field (800 V/cm). The ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate was used as modifier to improve the separation efficiency; trishydroxymethylaminomethane and sodium cholate were used as background electrolytes in methanol and acetonitrile. The ionic liquids used in this pap...
